Never Clean Another Gutter
When first buying a home, the most oft-ignored aspect of a house is the rain gutters. They’re just there. They don’t stand out, and most people don’t even think about them when purchasing a home. But paying attention to the quality of rain gutter your new home has is important, because wear and tear is most evident on the gutters. When your paint job starts to fade, or your roof begins to leak, it’s obvious and easy to rectify. When your gutters start to fail and weaken, you’ll never know until it’s too late and they come crashing down. If your new home’s gutters aren’t covered by a gutter protector, you can comfortably assume that they might be on their last legs and require immediate attention. Installing a gutter protector will prevent leaves, debris, dirt, and branches from clogging your drain and weakening the foundation.
A clogged gutter is rather easy to ignore for most homeowners. Maybe it doesn’t rain very often, or maybe it just seems too expensive or time-intensive to focus on. Almost no one likes doing chores, and cleaning the gutters is one of the worst: you get dirty, you get wet, you’re up on an unstable ladder. Simply ignoring the problem works just fine – but only for a little while. If the rains keep coming and the debris keeps clogging your gutters, eventually you’re going to have to do something. If you wait too long, your gutter will overflow and flood your yard. If you wait even longer, the weight of the debris will bring down your entire gutter system. Cleaning them periodically works, but it’s hard work. Installing a gutter protector will ensure that the water flows down into the gutter while preventing the debris from following. It’s a simple one-time fee with single installation, but you’ll never have to clean your gutters – or pay anyone else to clean them – again.
